The national average price per gallon of diesel gasoline headed up for the third consecutive week, according to data issued this week by the Department of Energy’s Energy Information Administration (EIA).
Rising $0.04, the national average came in at $3.584, for the week of October 7. This followed a 0.005-cent increase, to $3.544, for the week of September 30, and a 1.3-cent increase, to $3.539, for the week of September 23.
Over the last three weeks, the national diesel average has seen a cumulative 5.8-cent increase. And prior to that the national diesel average fell a cumulative 33.9 cents, from the 10-week period, from the week of July 15 through September 9.
Compared to the same week a year ago, the national average fell $0.914, down from a $1.047 annual decrease, for the week of September 30.
